I’m Sara, the founder of Doc & Key, a small but mighty documentary distribution company dedicated to bringing captivating films from the Middle East to audiences in Canada and around the world.
As a lifelong lover of foreign cinema and an immigrant from Iran on the ancestral lands of the Musqueam, the Squamish and the Tsleil-Waututh peoples, I’ve spent years attending festivals and exploring stories from these lands and around the globe, with a special fondness for cultural narratives from my region.
With a passion for storytelling, an MA in Communication Studies from Simon Fraser University and over a decade of experience in community organizer in Canada, I’m excited to build, through Doc & Key, a platform of authentic cultural exchange for a community film lovers.
